Happy New Year!
by Ms. J. Raabe - Monday, 5 September 2011, 02:04 PM

Welcome to new MSMS students and parents...welcome back to returning students and parents!

Ms. Raabe is in the process of updating all the student users for the new year - this is taking some time since we're uploading EVERYONE at the beginning of the year.  Please be patient.

Students (and parents) can take a look around the site, but only teachers will be "enrolling" students into courses, so if you don't have any courses yet AND your teacher will be using the site, then these will suddenly appear once the data is set to use.

This website CAN be viewed on any device with internet access, so we suggest that you get those personal device forms signed early in the year - see Mr. Heisler or one of the support staff in the office for the forms (8th & 9th graders only).

Register Your Technology! For Grade 8 & 9 Students...
by Ms. J. Raabe - Friday, 15 April 2011, 08:30 PM

As of April 13, both Grade 8 and 9 students at MSMS are able to register their personal iPod Touches or Laptops with Mr. Heisler (and Mr. Clarke).  Register forms are available at the school office (sorry, not online yet).

Students must have parent permission (signature on form) and a meeting with Mr. Heisler...then have their device registered with Mr. Clarke in order to go "online" at MSMS.  Teachers will then give permission to use within individual classes and student use is permitted while under a teacher's supervision.

Bring in your forms ASAP!

Student SCHOOL-BASED Email Addresses!
by Ms. J. Raabe - Tuesday, 4 January 2011, 04:23 PM

Happy New Year!

We are pleased to announce that SCHOOL email addresses are now available for students.  Please sign-up with Ms. Raabe is you want your very own "@msms.ca" email address.

This is a "mail map" address - it RE-DIRECTS email from one address to a "real" address...in other words, people can send email to "you"@msms.ca and it will arrive in your gmail or hotmail (or whichever) account.

Benefits:

* You can sign up for FREE education-based software accounts, like Prezi!

* It helps to filter school-related messages from those that are NOT because you can set up filters within most email hosts

* You can give out your student number without explaining the email address you chose when you were 7 years old and why it is mispelled...

* It looks more impressive on a resume when applying for a job than that silly email address you chose when you were 7 years old...

Again - if you want a school-based re-direct email account set up, Ms. Raabe has the sign-up lists.

Welcome!

FIRST TIME HERE?  Login using your student number as both your username and your password; once you have done this, you will be required to CHANGE your password - follow the criteria given.

*Ms. Raabe has NOT changed your password from the previous year - if you can't remember it, come see her in S215 at BREAK or LUNCH to have it reset.

STUDENTS will only see ENROLLED courses IF they are logged in; people signed in as GUESTS might be able to see assignments if a teacher has allowed guest access but they will NOT be able to submit work, complete activities, or see submitted work or comments.

If you have any questions or need assistance in some other way, please email Ms. Raabe.

Happy moodling!
